Nepal is a landlocked country tucked in laps of the Himalayas, snugly sandwiched between China and India.
Though small in area, there is a vast diversity of flora and fauna, ethnicity and festivals.The north of the country is cmmanded by the tallest mountain peak in the world –Mt.Everest-called Sagarmatha by the Nepalese people;while the southlies ensconsed in the luxurious junjles of the Terai region boasting of animals such as the one horned rhino,the musk deer and the Royal Bengal Tiger among others.In addition Nepal has a generous proportion of man made wonders in the form of shrines,temples and palaces highlighting the ancient legends and customs of the land.
Measuring 110 miles from the north to south and 200 miles from east to west, Bhutan –inginously called Druk Yul or “The Lnad of the Thunder Dragon” –is a country where time stands still.Known the world as “the Last Shangri-La”.Bhutan seems to transport visitors several decades back in time to a totally different world.Although there is an international airport and foreign cars traversing the hilly roads, the pervading atmosphere speaks of a bygone era when deadlines were unheard of and people were in command in of their own time.Home to a variety of ecosystems, Bhutan can be divided in to three major land regions –the plains and river valleys to the south, a mid Himalayan region(5000-14000 ft high)north of the valleys and the mountainous lands in the Himalayas ranging from 14000 to 24000 ft high .
